Now then—if you’ve ever fancied a small adventure (the sort that starts with a whisper of trouble and ends with a good sense of accomplishment), you’ll love Escape to Elissa: A Hobbitish Hunt. Out on the pretty grounds of Bates Farm in North Alabama, you’ll get an old letter full of clues and set off on a cozy outdoor quest: part escape room, part scavenger hunt, and part gentle hike. Together you’ll solve puzzles, find hidden bits of wonder, and help chase the darkness from the Land of Elissa—without any need for swords, unless you count the courage to think your way through a riddle. About 1 mile of walking. Wear: closed-toed, comfortable shoes and pants. Ages 12+
