Cost: $10 per family (Parents or guardians must accompany children. Strollers are welcome for younger ones.) Agenda: 1. Introduction and Sign-In 2. Overview and demonstration of Hugelkulture and raised beds 3. Ways to source materials for Hugelkulture for free 4. Different type of Raised Beds - layered beds, tiered beds 5. Cheap sources of materials for raised beds 6. Build a 4 foot by 2 foot raised bed - discuss the use of Hugelculture to fill the bed economically Additional Options: 4 foot x 2 foot x 22 inch high raised bed kit to take home. $150 - includes pre-cut 2x6 treated lumber to the dimensions needed, 4 pieces of rebar, corner connector blocks, fertilizer and some dead fall wood for the beginning of the hugelkulture bed. Feel free to enjoy a picnic, free play, or more hiking time afterwards!
